SYMPTOMS
Exporting all names in a large WINS database may be very slow. The export process leaks memory (Task Manager shows continually rising memory usage for the MMC process) at about 1 megabyte (MB) per minute. If the WINS database is large enough, the server runs out of memory before the export finishes.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when the WINS snap-in does not clear the internal cache.
