SYMPTOMS
When you run Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional on a Compaq Armada 7800 portable computer that has an internal Compaq Series II 56K modem, Windows 2000 Plug and Play incorrectly recognizes the modem as a 33K modem, instead of a 56K modem.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because when it detects the modem, Windows 2000 Plug and Play installs the Compaq Armada 7000 Series II driver instead of the Compaq Armada 56KB V.90 driver.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional.
