PUB 2000: Not All Colors Are Displayed in Color Printing Dialog Box

Article ID: 242162

Article Last Modified on 9/7/2001

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Publisher 2000 Standard Edition

This article was previously published under Q242162

SYMPTOMS

If you paste a document, or insert an object or clip art image from Clip Gallery into your Publisher 2000 publication, the colors in the document, object, or clip art are not listed in the Colors Used list in the Color Printing dialog box.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because Publisher 2000 does not parse embedded objects to determine what colors are defined within the objects. However, if you set the color printing option to Process Color (CMYK), the colors in the embedded object are separated correctly into the CMYK color components.

RESOLUTION

At this time, there is no resolution or work around for this issue.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
