Installing the Service Pack 3 Update from the Compressed Files
---------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Create an SP3 directory on your local hard drive.

2. Download all of the compressed files in the ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/ 
   bussys/exchange/exchange-public/fixes/<LANG>/Exchg 5.5/SP3/server
   directory into the SP3 directory just created. 

3. At the Windows NT command prompt, switch to the SP3 directory and type 
   the compressed file name to bring up the Self-extracting menu (Example: 
   SP3_550A.EXE). 

4. At the Self-extracting menu, type the location of the SP3 folder in the 
   "Unzip to folder" box. Then select the "Unzip" button. Once the process 
   is completed select "OK," and then select "Close."

The following files are provided for Exchange Server 5.5 Service Pack 3:

5. Perform steps 3 and 4 for each file required. 

All of the files listed may be necessary to use the Readme.htm file and to 
access Service Pack 3 depending on which links are accessed. The Readme.rtf 
and Readme.htm refer to these files in the SP3 directory as being located 
in the CD-ROM drive.  

For detailed information about Exchange Server 5.5 SP3, see the enclosed 
server Readme in the file SP3_55RE.exe.

Note: All compressed files in the Server directory are intended to be 
extracted on the I386 platform. Files for extraction on the Alpha platform 
are available in the ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/bussys/exchange/ 
exchange-public/fixes/<LANG>/Exchg 5.5/SP3/server/Alpha directory.

Installing the Service Pack 3 Windows 16-bit Client Update from 
the Compressed File
-----------------------------------------------------------------

1. Create a directory with the following path: SP3\Support. 

2. Download the compressed client file SP3_55WI.EXE into the SP3\Support 
   directory. 

3. At the Windows NT command prompt, switch to the SP3\Support directory, 
   and type the file name followed by a -d:

      Example: SP3_55WI -d

4. Switch to the SP3\Support\WIN16 directory, and then type setup.

Installing Service Pack 3 for the Microsoft Exchange Macintosh Client 
from the Compressed File
---------------------------------------------------------------------

If you are currently using a Macintosh:

    Note: The information in step 1 has been updated from the original
    Readme file.

1.  Download the file "macout82.hqx" or the file "macout82.bin" from the
    Microsoft ftp site at ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/bussys/exchange/ 
    exchange-public/fixes/<LANG>/exchg5.5/sp3/mac/. (If you do
    not know which file to choose, download "macout82.hqx".)

2. Use a utility to decompress and unstuff the downloaded file as 
   necessary.

3. Open the folder "Microsoft Outlook 8.2" that was created on the desktop.

4. Double-click "Microsoft Outlook Setup" to begin the installation.

If you are currently not using a Macintosh:

1. Download and run the file "macout82.exe".

2. Locate the file "macout82.hqx" that was extracted by this program.

3. Copy this extracted file to a Macintosh.

4. Using a BinHex-capable decompression program, decompress this file to 
   the Macintosh desktop.

5. If necessary, double-click the file "Microsoft Outlook 8.2.sit" to 
   unstuff the installation files.

6. Open the folder "Microsoft Outlook 8.2" that was created on the desktop.

7. Double-click "Microsoft Outlook Setup" to begin the installation.

Macintosh Client System Requirements

Minimum: Apple Macintosh with a 68030 or faster processor, System 7.5.5 or 
later, and at least 16 megabytes (MB) of RAM.

Recommended: Apple Power Macintosh with Mac OS 8.0 or later and at least 16 
MB of RAM. In addition, Outlook will run faster if virtual memory is 
enabled and set to a minimum of 1 MB above the installed physical memory.

For more information about Microsoft Outlook 8.2 for Macintosh, including 
information about new features, read the Release Notes from your Microsoft 
Outlook 8.2 installation folder.

Installing Service Pack 3 for Microsoft Exchange Client Support Files 
from the Compressed File
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Create a directory with the following path: SP3\Support.

2. Download the client support file SP3_55SU.exe from 
   ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/bussys/exchange/exchange-public/fixes/<LANG>/ 
   Exchg5.5/SP3/client directory into the SP3\Support directory.

3. At the Windows NT command prompt, switch to the SP3\Support directory, 
   and type the file name to bring up the Self-extracting menu.(Example: 
   SP3_55SU.EXE) From the menu, select the folder in which to unzip the 
   files.

The client support file includes the following directories under the
SP3\<LANG>\Support directory:

 - The Language pack. Located in the SP3\Support\Langpack\<LANG>\Nta and
   SP3\Support\Langpack\<LANG>\Ntx directory.

 - The Schedule+ Exchange Transport DLL installation program. Located in
   the SP3\Support\Msoutl\<LANG>\Win16 and SP3\Support\Msoutl\<LANG>\Win32 
   directory. This driver enables you to open Microsoft Outlook calendars 
   from within Schedule+ 7.x. It works only with Windows NT or Windows 95 
   versions of Schedule+ 7.x. You must also be using Microsoft Exchange 
   Server. 

 - The Templates are located in the SP3\Support\Template\<LANG>\Alpha and 
   SP3\Support\Template\<LANG>\I386 directories.

Installing Service Pack 3 Server Update from the Compressed Files
--------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Make a complete backup of your Microsoft Exchange Server computer.
   Verify that it is done.

2. Create an SP3 directory.

3. Download the compressed Setup file appropriate for your hardware 
   platform into the SP3 directory. 

      Select one of these files as appropriate:

         Alpha AXP      SP3_550A.EXE
         Intel          SP3_550I.EXE

4. Download the compressed Support file appropriate for your hardware 
   platform into the SP3 directory. 

      Select one of these files as appropriate:

         Alpha AXP      SP3S550A.EXE
         Intel          SP3S550I.EXE

5. At the Windows NT command prompt, switch to the SP3 directory, and type 
   the compressed file name(Example: SP3_550A.EXE) to bring up the 
   Self-extracting menu. From the menu, select the folder in which to unzip 
   the files.

6. Switch to the SP3\ENG\Server\Setup\I386 or SP3\ENG\Server\Setup\Alpha 
   directory (depending on whether you have an Intel or Alpha AXP    
   processor).

7. Type "Update", and then follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
