SYMPTOMS
When you run the NET TIME command with the /S option at a command prompt, you may receive the following error message:
CAUSE
This issue occurs because the /S option is not valid in Windows 2000.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use the /SET or /SETSNTP options with the NET TIME command.
STATUS
This issue is by design.
MORE INFORMATION
To determine the available switches for the NET TIME command, type net time /? at a command prompt.
The /SET option can be used to synchronize the computer's clock with the time on the specified computer or domain.
The /SETSNTP option can be used to synchronize the W32Time (Windows Time) time service.
