SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to set up a new Net Folders subscription, you may receive the following message when you click Finish on the Net Folders Wizard:

Net Folders was unable to mail New Subscription offers to the following addressees: <addresses>

CAUSE

The Frmcache.dat file may be corrupt, or be the wrong version.

RESOLUTION

Rename the Frmcache.dat file and Outlook will build a new one.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

To Rename the Frmcache.dat File

  1. Quit Outlook.
  2. Click Start, point to Find, and click Files or Folders.
  3. Type Frmcache.dat in the Named box, and click Find Now.
  4. For each instance of the file found, right-click the file name and click Rename.
  5. Rename the file Frmcache.old, and press ENTER.
  6. Restart Outlook.
