SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to set up a new Net Folders subscription, you may receive the following message when you click Finish on the Net Folders Wizard:
CAUSE
The Frmcache.dat file may be corrupt, or be the wrong version.
RESOLUTION
Rename the Frmcache.dat file and Outlook will build a new one.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
MORE INFORMATION
To Rename the Frmcache.dat File
- Quit Outlook.
- Click Start, point to Find, and click Files or Folders.
- Type Frmcache.dat in the Named box, and click Find Now.
- For each instance of the file found, right-click the file name and click Rename.
- Rename the file Frmcache.old, and press ENTER.
- Restart Outlook.
