SBFM2000: Run-Time Error 429 Starting Small Business Financial Manager

SYMPTOMS

When you run the Small Business Financial Manager, you may receive the following error message:

Run-time error '429': ActiveX component can't create object.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the Regobj.dll file is not registered. The Office Setup program does not overwrite the Regobj.dll file if it already exists.

WORKAROUND

To manually register the Regobj.dll file:

  1. On the Start menu, click Run.
  2. Type the following, and click OK

    Regsvr32.exe "sysdir\regobj.dll"

    where sysdir is the path to your Windows\System directory, for example:

    Regsvr32.exe "c:\windows\system\regobj.dll"

  3. Click OK in the message indicating that the operation succeeded.
