OL2000: Error Message "Outlook caused an invalid page fault in module MSO9.dll at <memory address>." ID: Q239769 The information in this article applies to: Microsoft Outlook 2000 IMPORTANT: This article contains information about editing the registry. SYMPTOMS If you use the QuickFind feature to search for an Address Book entry or a contact, when you use the Most Recently Used (MRU) list on the toolbar, you may receive the following error message: OUTLOOK caused an invalid page fault in module Mso9.dll at <memory address>. CAUSE The registry key, QuickFindMRU, is corrupted, or has grown beyond its memory allotment. RESOLUTION Remove the QuickFindMRU key so it can be rebuilt. MORE INFORMATION The QuickFind window on the Outlook toolbar allows you to type in a name to be used to search the Contacts folder and the Address Book. Each name you enter is recorded in the MRU list for convenience in reselecting the name. WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. For information about how to edit the registry, view the "Changing Keys and Values" Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) or the "Add and Delete Information in the Registry" and "Edit Registry Data" Help topics in Regedt32.exe. Note that you should back up the registry before you edit it. If you are running Windows NT, you should also update your Emergency Repair Disk (ERD). To Remove the QuickFindMRU Registry Key Click Start, click Run, type regedit, in the Open box, and click OK. Navigate to the following location, and click to select the QuickFindMRU registry key: On the Registry menu, click Export Registry File. Type a name for the file and click Save. Right-click QuickFindMRU in the left pane, and then click Delete on the shortcut menu.
