SYMPTOMS
When you click OK in the VSI MS SQL Server dialog box, you receive one or both of the following error messages:

CAUSE
This problem occurs when you attempt to connect to a Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 database. The SQL Server ODBC driver that is included with Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition does not support connecting to a SQL Server 7.0 database. Microsoft Excel 2001 for Mac does install any ODBC drivers.
WORKAROUND
To connect to a SQL 7.0 driver, you can purchase a driver from a third-party company. The following companies are a few that may have this driver:
