SYMPTOMS
When you create a user on a computer running Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0 and Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5, the corresponding Microsoft Windows 2000 Active Directory user logon name is not present.
CAUSE
When you use the Windows NT 4.0 security account manager (SAM) application programming interface (API) to create a Windows 2000 account, there is no way to specify the user logon name during creation; therefore, none is created.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
MORE INFORMATION
