SYMPTOMS
During authentication, if the account is locked out and the Internet Information Server (IIS) computer is logging to an ODBC database, the following error message occurs:
This error message is incorrect. Users should receive an error message stating that their user accounts have been locked out.
CAUSE
The authentication error that the account has been locked out is being reset by a pending I/O error returned from an asynchronous write to the IIS log. This causes the incorrect error message to occur.
RESOLUTION
Windows NT Server or Workstation 4.0
