If Each Version of Windows Is on a Separate Partition and FAT16 Is Used for Both Partitions

  1. Start Windows (either version) and install Microsoft Office 2000 by running the Setup.exe file on the root of the Office CD.
  2. Restart the computer when prompted by Microsoft Office Setup, and start the same version of Windows started in the previous step. This allows Office Setup to complete its installation.
  3. Start the other version of Windows, and install Microsoft Office 2000 to the same path as step 1 by running the Setup.exe file on the root of the Office CD.
  4. Restart the computer when prompted by Microsoft Office Setup, and start the same version of Windows started in the previous step. This allows Office Setup to complete its installation.

NOTE: Office Setup installs Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 to the \Program Files\Internet Explorer folder of the operating system drive by default. This is the recommended installation method for Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.
