Problem: Under certain circumstances, the assembler inserts an NOP with an item accessed via a forward reference. If an operation is carried out on the item referenced, the operation results in a phase error.
Response: Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Version 4.00 of the Macro Assembler. The problem is corrected in Version 5.00.
