Note This article discusses complex scripts functionality. SYMPTOMS
Spelling and grammar checking are not automatically turned on when you upgrade from an earlier right-to-left version of Word to Word 2000.
Automatic spelling and grammar checking do not occur as you type.
CAUSE
During the upgrade process, the existing Normal.dot template is migrated; however, automatic spelling and grammar checking are turned off by default.
WORKAROUND
To correct this situation, follow these steps:
- On the Tools menu, point to Language, and then click Set Language.
- Clear the Do not check spelling or grammar check box.
- Click the Default button.
- Click Yes in the dialog box that asks whether you want to change the default language.
