SYMPTOMS
If an Iomega Zip drive is installed on a computer that is running the Japanese-language version of Windows 98, when you gain access to a disk in the Zip drive and then attempt to gain access to a floppy disk, you may receive an error message that is similar to:
CAUSE
This problem can occurs if data structures that are used to maintain logical and physical drive information become corrupted and cause errors.
RESOLUTION
A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Japanese-language version of Windows 98.
This problem was corrected in the Japanese-language version of Windows 98 Second Edition.
