SYMPTOMS
You cannot define an Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) Cost value above 32,767 in the Routing and Remote Access Services tool.
CAUSE
The control used to set this value cannot assign a value greater than 32,767.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

OSPF is a link-state routing protocol defined in RFC 1583 and RFC 2328. Per the RFCs, the highest cost for the Cost value should be 65,535. For additional information, see the "OSPF Version 2" section in RFC 2328.
