SYMPTOMS
When you install Microsoft MapPoint, you may be prompted to install Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 after you accept the terms of the End User License Agreement (EULA).
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if Internet Explorer 3.01 or earlier is installed on your computer.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
MORE INFORMATION
If Internet Explorer 3.02 or later is installed on your computer, only the HTML Help component of Internet Explorer 5 (which is needed to use MapPoint online Help) is installed by MapPoint Setup.
