XL2000: Blue Screen Error Printing Worksheet to HP LaserJet 6 Printer

SYMPTOMS

When you print your worksheet, you may receive the following blue screen error:

STOP: 0x0000001E (0xC0000005, 0x80109f1D, 0x00000001, 0x005B005b)
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
ntoskrnl.exe

CAUSE

This problem may occur when the following conditions are true:

  • A cell in your worksheet contains a string value longer than 550 characters.


-and-

  • You are using version 3.73 of the Hewlett-Packard Laserjet 6 Enhanced PCL printer driver.


-and-

  • You are running Microsoft Windows NT.


WORKAROUND

If your printer is PostScript-compatible, use a PostScript-compatible printer driver to print from Excel.

Download and install a newer printer driver from the Hewlett-Packard Web site:
