SYMPTOMS
When you place your computer on battery power after you upgrade your IBM 600-series laptop computer to Windows 2000 Professional, the icon for system power status on the right side of the taskbar does not change.
CAUSE
This issue can occur if the Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) does not properly implement Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) functionality.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, contact IBM to inquire about the availability of a fix for this issue.
