SYMPTOMS

When you go to the Most Recently Used list and try to open a presentation designed in Corel Presentations 8 and saved to an NTFS partition, the following error message may appear:

File Not Found

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because the Windows 2000 Most Recently Used list has an attribute bit that the Corel program does not recognize. New attribute bits for Windows 2000 include SPARSE, ENCRYPTED, and REPARSE_POINT.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, contact Corel Corporation to upgrade to WordPerfect Office 2000 or to obtain a fix for this issue.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, open the file from within the Corel program by using the File submenu in the Presentations menu.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000.

MORE INFORMATION

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior

  1. Install Corel Presentations 8.
  2. Create a new slide show, and then save it to an NTFS-formatted drive.
  3. Close the slide show, and then try to reopen it by using the Most Recently Used list in the File menu.
