Parts of Lotus SmartSuite 96 Do Not Work After Migration to Windows 2000

SYMPTOMS

When you migrate Lotus SmartSuite 96 from Windows 95 or Windows 98 to Windows 2000, you may find that some of its programs do not work.

The following programs do not work after migration from Windows 95 to Windows 2000:

  • Lotus SmartSuite 96 Docs Online:

    Cannot find the files. the documents were not included in the install point.

    Lotus SmartSuite 96 ScreenCam 2.1:

    No error message appears during the migration or during the start of the program. However, when you try to save, the process continues indefinitely.

    Lotus SmartSuite 96 SmartCenter 96:

    SmartCenter appears after the migration; however, you are not able to launch any programs from it.

The following programs do not work after migration from Windows 98 to Windows 2000:

  • Lotus SmartSuite 96 Docs Online:

    Acrobat Reader starts, but an error message appears stating that the document files could not be located.

    Lotus SmartSuite 96 SmartCenter 96:

    SmartCenter appears after the migration; however, you are not able to launch any programs from it.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, contact Lotus Corporation to obtain a patch or an upgrade.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem.
