SYMPTOMS
When you try to open Corel WordPerfect 6.1 for Windows on a computer running Microsoft Windows NT 3.5 or 4.0 or Microsoft Windows 2000, you may receive one of the following error messages:
For each subsequent attempt to open WordPerfect 6.1 until you restart your computer, you may receive the following error message:
After you restart your computer, you may receive the original error message again on your first attempt to open WordPerfect 6.1.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur when you have a default printer that has a printer name more than 33 characters long.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, change the printer name of the default printer so that it is shorter than 33 characters. If your default printer is a network printer, you may need to ask your network administrator to change the printer name.
STATUS
This problem occurs when you use Microsoft Windows 2000 or Microsoft Windows NT 3.5 or 4.0 and Corel Corporation WordPerfect version 6.1.
