SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Word, when you do one of the following to send your fax to the WinFax PRO program, your fax stops responding (hangs) or gives an error message, or nothing happens:
- You use the Fax Wizard in Microsoft Word.
- You point to Send To on the File menu and then click Fax Recipient.
- You click Print to WinFax on the File menu.
- You use the WinFax Mail Merge macro.
CAUSE
This problem can occur after you upgrade your installation of Microsoft Word, and the version of WinFax PRO that you have installed is not compatible with the new version of Word.
RESOLUTION
To correct this problem, follow these steps for your version of Microsoft Word.
Microsoft Word 2002 (Microsoft Office XP)
Symantec does not recommend that you use WinFax PRO version 10.0 or earlier with Microsoft Word 2002 (Microsoft Office XP). Symantec recommends that you upgrade your installation of WinFax PRO to version 10.02 or later.
Microsoft Word 2000 (Microsoft Office 2000)
Symantec states that you can resolve this problem by upgrading to WinFax PRO 9.03 or later.
