CAUSE

Some .fpx (FPX) graphics formats are not compatible with the graphics filter that Word uses for .fpx graphics.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, you can use one of the following methods using Microsoft PhotoDraw.

NOTE: Microsoft PhotoDraw is an optional component that ships with Microsoft Office 2000 Premium Edition (CD 3 & 4). It is also packaged as a standalone product.

You can use Microsoft PhotoDraw to import the graphic and then copy and paste the graphic into your Word document.

  1. Open the .fpx graphic inside Microsoft PhotoDraw.
  2. On the Edit menu, click Copy.
  3. Minimize PhotoDraw, and open your Word document.
  4. Click the location in your document where you want to place the graphic.
  5. On the Edit menu, click Paste.

Method 2: Import and then export the graphic from Microsoft PhotoDraw.

You can use Microsoft PhotoDraw to import the graphic and then export the graphic to a different file format for import into your Word document.

  1. Open the .fpx graphic inside Microsoft PhotoDraw.
  2. On the File menu, click Save for Use in.
  3. In the Save for Use In Wizard, click to select In a Microsoft Office Document.
  4. Follow the instructions in the wizard to save the graphic.
  5. Open your document in Word.
  6. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click From File to import the graphic you saved from Microsoft PhotoDraw.
