CAUSE
The audio compression codecs on your computer may have missing or inaccurate information listed in the System.ini file.
THINGS TO TRY
To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).

To temporarily work around this problem, add two lines to the [drivers32] section of the System.ini file as follows:
- On the Windows Start menu, click Run.
- In the Open box, type sysedit, and click OK to display the System Configuration Editor.
Click the System.ini tab, browse to the [drivers32] section, and then search for the following lines of information:
msacm.sl_anet=sl_anet.acm msacm.voxacm160=vct3216.acm
If either of these lines are missing, type the lines as shown above.
- On the File menu, click Save, and then close the System Configuration Editor.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft PowerPoint 2000. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a.
