SUMMARY
In Exchange 2000, you can now have multiple databases on a single server. If multiple databases are in the same storage group, they will share the same set of extensible storage engine (ESE) transaction log files.
MORE INFORMATION
The relationship is as follows:
- One set of ESE transaction log files for each storage group.
- Up to five databases for each storage group.
- One .stm file (Internet message stream format) for each database.
- One .edb file (MAPI message format) for each database.
NOTE: There is a maximum of five databases for each storage group, and a maximum of 4 storage groups for each Exchange 2000 server.
