Regtrace.exe is a utility that ships with Microsoft Site Server version 3.0. It is useful for helping debug certain problems that may occur. Use the following steps to enable Regtrace.exe:

  1. Click Start, click Run, type "Regtrace.exe" (without the quotation marks), and click OK.
  2. On the Traces tab, click to select all of the options.
  3. Click the Output tab and specify the desired file name for the log file. For example, C:\Trace.atf.
  4. Restart your computer for this to take effect.

To set the log file size:

  1. In the Trace Settings dialog box, click the Output tab.
  2. Click File.
  3. In Maximum Trace File Size, enter the desired value in megabytes (MB).
  4. Click either Apply or OK.

NOTE: You can set the log file size before step 4 in the "To enable Regtrace" section.
