Article ID: 220536

Article Last Modified on 12/6/2000

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Word 2000 Standard Edition

This article was previously published under Q220536

SYMPTOMS

When you copy and paste a WordArt image as a picture (enhanced metafile) (on the Edit menu, click Paste Special) and then edit the picture with Word as the picture editor, the WordArt image fill becomes a separate background or foreground covering the text of the WordArt image.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use a different picture editor to edit the enhanced metafile image. For example, use Microsoft Photo Editor as your picture editor in Word.

To use a different picture editor in Word, follow these steps:

  1. In Word, click Options on the Tools menu.
  2. On the Edit tab, click the arrow in the Picture editor box.

NOTE: If Microsoft Photo Editor does not appear in the Picture Editor box, rerun the Setup program and install Microsoft Photo Editor.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
