SYMPTOMS

When you try to create a new Web page from any of the Web templates (on the File menu, click New and then click to select the Web Pages tab), the following error message may appear:

Some of the files in this Web page aren't in the expected location. Do you want to download them anyway? If you're sure the Web page is from a trusted source, click Yes.

CAUSE

The following are two cases why this error message may appear:

Case 1

Word was installed as Run from server from a Novell NetWare server with no long file name support.

Case 2

The local intranet zone security settings in Internet Explorer 5 may be set to High.

WORKAROUND

Use one of the following methods appropriate for your situation.

Method 1: Install Long File Name Support

To work around this problem when running Word from a run-from-server installation, install OS/2 Name Space (Long File Name) support on the Novell NetWare server.

Method 2: Change Internet Explorer Security Settings

In Internet Explorer 5, perform the following steps:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and then click to select the Security tab.
  2. Select Local intranet and change the Security level for this zone to a setting other than High, and then click OK. .
