SYMPTOMS
When multiple dial-up accounts are involved in a Send/Receive All Accounts operation, canceling one account will also cancel all remaining dial-up accounts.
RESOLUTION
To Send/Receive the remaining accounts, select them individually.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
MORE INFORMATION
If you have multiple accounts that use dial-up connections, and you attempt a Send/Receive operation on all the accounts, canceling one of the accounts during its dial-up attempt will also cancel all the remaining accounts. If you also have accounts that are accessed through a LAN connection, they will not be cancelled.
To recover from this problem, use one of the following methods:
Send/Receive the Remaining Accounts Individually
- On the Tools menu, point to Send/Receive.
- Click to select one of the accounts that you did not intend to cancel.
- Repeat this process until all accounts have been handled.
Remove the Problem Account From a Send/Receive All Accounts Operation
- On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
- Click to select the problem account and click Properties.
- Click to clear "Include this account when receiving mail and synchronizing."
- Click OK and Close.
NOTE: This account can still be selected for sending and receiving.
