SYMPTOMS
If you install Outlook with the Symantec Fax Starter Edition on a computer that has no printer port or that has the printer port disabled, you may encounter one or more of the following problems:
- The fax printer driver may not be installed.
- The computer may stop responding (hang) during modem detection.
- You may not be able to send a fax with multiple pages or with an attachment.
CAUSE
The Symantec Fax Starter Edition service requires a functional printer port to operate properly.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
