SYMPTOMS
When you reply to the sender or forward a news message, Outlook Express uses the signature file designated for mail messages.
CAUSE
When you reply to the sender or forward a news message, the sending account is actually a mail account. This is correctly detected by Outlook Express, which appends the signature file designated for the mail account being used to reply to the sender or forward the message.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.

This following information describes the normal behavior for the following actions:
- Reply to Sender: This uses mail, so the mail signature is used.
- Reply to Group: This sends only to the news server, so the news signature is used.
- Reply to All: This replies to the sender using mail and the group using news, and uses the news signature because the mail reply is a courtesy to the sender.
- Forward: This uses mail, so the mail signature is used.
- Forward as Attachment: This uses mail, so the mail signature is used.
