OL98: (CW) Only One Mail Message Is Sent at a Time

NOTE: The procedures in this article only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate or Workgroup option. With this option, you can use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, click About Microsoft Outlook on the Help menu. If you have the Corporate or Workgroup installation, you see "Corporate or Workgroup".


SYMPTOMS

When sending e-mail with a scheduled connection, only one item is sent per dial-up session.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

If you have Outlook configured to use the Internet E-mail transport, and have it set to send and receive every X minutes, when it checks for new mail it will only send one item from the Outbox regardless of how many items are there.

To send all out-bound e-mail during one dial-up session, on the Tools menu, point to Send and Receive and click to select the sending mail account, or convert to the Internet Mail Only configuration to fully utilize connection scheduling.
