SYMPTOMS
The MS Mail Connector in Exchange Server 5.5 will throw away Read Receipts (RR) that were generated by the Macintosh Client for PC Networks. The following message could appear in the Windows NT Event Viewer under the MSExchangeMSMI source:
CAUSE
The MS Mail Connector was incorrectly parsing the date from the message generated by the Macintosh Client for PC Networks. Therefore, the message could not continue to be processed.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Exchange Server version 5.5. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5. This problem was first corrected in Exchange Server 5.5 Service Pack 3.
