SYMPTOMS
When you print a worksheet that contains a picture, the picture appears to be zoomed in, on one quadrant of the printout.
CAUSE
This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
- You print a worksheet that contains an embedded picture such as a Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) or Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) file.
-and-
- You scanned the embedded picture into Windows using a scanner.
-and-
- The workbook was saved from Microsoft Excel 95 to the Microsoft Excel 2000 format.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, follow these steps:
- Use the right mouse button to click (right-click) the embedded picture.
- Point to Grouping and click Ungroup.
- Click Yes when you receive the following message:
The worksheet that contains the picture will now print correctly.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
