SUMMARY
If you use Microsoft Publisher to create a publication that is to be converted to a Web site (series of HTML documents), you can provide alternate text descriptions for your pictures. An alternate text description is a text-only description that appears in your Web browser if you choose to hide pictures, if the picture becomes damaged or moved, or if your browser is text-based.

To specify alternate text for a picture, follow these steps:
- Select a picture or object frame.
- On the Format menu, click Picture Frame Properties, or Object Frame Properties.
- In the Text To Display box, type the description you want to appear in place of a graphic. NOTE: The Text To Display box only appears in the Picture Frame Properties or the Object Frame Properties dialog box, if you are working on a Web publication.
For more information about Alternate Text, click the Office Assistant, type alt, click Search, and then click to view "Display Alternate Text for a picture."
