SYMPTOMS
When you save as a Web page a file based on the Contemporary Memo template, some of the objects on the page move to unexpected locations. For example, the circle watermark appears just above the confidential banner. The vertical and horizontal bars in the header and the shaded rectangle behind the confidential banner in the footer are not retained.
CAUSE
Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) pages are not equivalent to Word pages. Objects (and text) in the header and footer sections of a Word document are not retained when the file is saved as a Web page, because this functionality is not supported in the HTML specification. The circle is formatted with an absolute position and when the page is converted to HTML, the absolute position is retained.
