SYMPTOMS

When you use a Hewlett-Packard (HP) LaserJet IIP printer to print a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation, the slides in your presentation may be printed without any text or graphics.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you configure the printer to use the Windows Printing System (WPS) driver and cartridge.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, add the HP LaserJet IIP printer driver included with Windows 95/98:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
  2. Double-click Add Printer, click Next, click Local Printer, and then click Next.
  3. In the Manufacturers box, click HP.
  4. In the Printers box, click HP LaserJet IIP, and then click Next.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the Add Printer wizard.
