SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to start Expedia Trip Planner 98, you may receive an error message similar to the following:

Trip Planner 98 requires 256 colors and 640 x 480 resolution to run.

You may experience this symptom even when the color palette is set to 256 colors or higher, and the screen resolution is set to 640 x 480 pixels or higher.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if your video adapter is configured to use a video driver designed for Microsoft Windows 3.x.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, contact the manufacturer of your video adapter to inquire about how to obtain and install the latest Microsoft Windows 95/98 version of the video driver for your video adapter.
