SYMPTOMS
If you specify a folder location for Microsoft Word 2000 workgroup templates, you cannot delete the setting from the Microsoft Office shortcut bar.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the dialog box that you access from the Office shortcut bar has only an Add and a Cancel button. There is no OK button to accept changes that you want to make. Word includes an OK button that can accept the changes you make when you delete the folder location.
WORKAROUND
To delete the current setting for the Workgroup templates location, follow these steps:
- Start Word.
- On the Tools menu, click Options.
- In the Options dialog box, click the File Locations tab.
- Under File types, click Workgroup templates, and then click Modify.
- In the Modify Location dialog box, delete the contents of the Folder name box, and then click OK.
The location for Workgroup templates is cleared.
- In the Options dialog box, click OK.
MORE INFORMATION
When you select a workgroup templates location, a group of users can share the same templates without having to store the templates on each user's computer. The templates stored in the location you specify are available in the New dialog box.
