SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to import a Lotus Organizer 97 GS file into Outlook by using the Import And Export Wizard, the only option available in the Files Of Type box is Lotus Organizer 97 (*.OR3).
CAUSE
Outlook does not have a converter for Lotus Organizer 97 GS, and therefore does not support the .or4 file format.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use either of the following methods:
- Export the data from Lotus Organizer by using the dBase format, and then import the dBase file into Outlook.
- Rename the .or4 file extension of the Organizer file to .or3, and then import the file.
How to Export the Data from Lotus Organizer
- Start Lotus Organizer.
- On the File menu, click Export, and then type a name for the file.
- In the Files of Type box, click dBASE (*.DBF).
- Verify that you have selected both the From Section: Calendar and Field Mapping: All Fields options, and then click Export.
- Quit Lotus Organizer.
How to Import the Data into Outlook
- Start Outlook.
- On the File menu, click Export.
- Click Import from another program or file, and then click Next.
- Click dBase, and then click Next.
- Locate the file that you exported, click the option that you want, and then click Next.
- Click your calendar in the Folder List. If you do not see the Folder List, click Folder List on the View menu. Microsoft recommends that you import to a personal folders file (.pst) and not to you calendar that is stored on a Microsoft Exchange Server-based computer because Outlook may stop responding.
- Click Next.
- Click to select your import option, click Map Custom Fields, and then make the following mappings:
dBase Outlook STARTDATE Start Date ENDDATET End Date CATAGORIES Categories DESCRIPTION Subject (or Description)
- Click OK, and then click Finish.
