NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate Workgroup/Other option. This option allows you to use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu, click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook, you should see "Corporate" if you have the Corporate Workgroup installation.

SYMPTOMS

When sending or receiving mail using Microsoft Outlook with cc:Mail Services, the time stamps for the received or sent mail messages may be off by as much as 5 hours. This only applies to Outlook on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0. The time and date stamps will be correct on Windows 95 or later computers.

CAUSE

This is a result of old Lotus Vim32.dll files dated 9/15/95 or earlier.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, obtain the latest Vim32.dll files from Lotus Corporation and copy them into the \Winnt\System32 folder. These files can be found at:

Click vdlw32.zip to download the file to your computer.

The vdlw32.zip file is a compressed file. You will need to extract the files with a program such as PkUnzip or Winzip.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 2000.

  1. Download Vdlw32.zip to your computer, following your browser's instructions for downloading files.
  2. Uncompress Vdlw32.zip and and copy the files into the \Winnt\System32 folder.
