SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Project 98, if you drag a split part of a task bar to remove a split, the split may not be removed and it may be moved to the end of the task, creating a trailing split.
NOTE: A trailing split is a split at the end of a task bar.
CAUSE
This behavior may occur when you drag a split part of an elapsed duration task bar to remove a split.
When you drag the split part, the split part is moved but the task start and finish does not change.
RESOLUTION
To correct this problem, install Microsoft Project 98 for Windows, Service Release 1 (SR-1).
To work around this behavior temporarily, reduce the duration of the task until the trailing split is removed. After removing the trailing split, adjust the duration to the correct value.
STATUS
This problem was corrected in Microsoft Project 98 for Windows, Service Release 1 (SR-1).
