SYMPTOMS
When you open a message that contains a digital certificate and then save the file, you receive a Digital ID file with an extension of .p7c.

Outlook Express is a Secure Multi-Purpose Internet Messaging Extensions (S/MIME) protocol e-mail client that can send and receive digitally signed messages and encrypted messages. The .p7c file contains a digital certificate.
