SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Project 98, when you use the Adjust Dates macro to reschedule tasks in a project that is scheduled from finish, the finish dates for all tasks in the project may be a day earlier than expected.
CAUSE
This behavior may occur when you run the Adjust_Dates macro and the following conditions are true:
- One or more tasks are assigned a Must Start On constraint, Must Finish On constraint, or Finish No Later Than constraint.
- The project is scheduled to Start From Finish.
- When you run the Adjust_Dates macro, you enter a new project finish date without a finish time in the Adjust Dates dialog box.
If you do not include a finish time with the new project finish date, the macro uses the Default Start Time setting (8:00 A.M. for example) on the Calendar tab in the Options dialog box.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, when you run the Adjust_Dates macro, include the finish time with the new finish date, for example 9/25/98 5:00 PM.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
