CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you have Naleco RADFind 96 version 1.0a installed and you are using a sound scheme that plays a Windows sound (.wav) file for the Menu Popup and Windows Start events. The error message occurs if RADFind 96 is scanning your disk and the startup sound is playing when you click the Start button.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, use the appropriate method:
Method 1
Disable the sound for the Menu Popup event:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the Sounds icon.
- In the Events box, click Menu Popup.
- In the Sound box, click (None).
- Click OK.
Method 2
Do not click the Start button until the Windows startup sound has finished playing, or until RADFind 96 has finished scanning your drives.
Method 3
Uninstall RADFind 96. To uninstall RADFind 96, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- On the Install/Uninstall tab, click RADFind 96, and then click Add/Remove.
MORE INFORMATION
This problem may also occur during normal Windows operation if RADFind 96 is running and two system sounds are played at the same time. RADFind 96 is a file search program that scans your hard disk and indexes the files on the disk.
