PPT: QuickTime Movies Jump or Miss Frames in PowerPoint

SYMPTOMS

After you scale a QuickTime movie in PowerPoint, it may not play correctly. Your movie may present the following problems:

  • The movie may appear jumpy.
  • The movie miss frames.


-or-

  • The movie may play slowly.


CAUSE

This symptom appears because of a loss of the original aspect ratio.

RESOLUTION

To restore the QuickTime movie to its original aspect ratio, follow these steps:

  1. On the Format menu, click Picture.
  2. Click the Size tab.
  3. Make sure the Relative to original picture size check box is selected, and the Lock aspect ratio check box is not selected, then click Reset.
  4. Now, click to select the Lock aspect ratio check box.


If the aspect ratio is locked, you can reset the size back to the original 100%.

  1. Type the scale size you want, and then click OK.
