SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to put Windows 98 in Standby mode by clicking Start, clicking Shut Down, clicking Stand By, and then clicking OK, you may receive the following error message:

A device driver or program will not let your system enter Stand By mode.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if Diamond Multimedia/NetCommander ISDN adapter drivers are installed on your computer. These drivers prevent Windows 98 from going into Standby mode.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, contact Diamond Multimedia Technical Support to inquire about the availability of updated drivers.
