SYMPTOMS
When opening a fax message in Microsoft Outlook 98 you receive the following error:
CAUSE
Files with an .FXO extension are not associated with any Windows program.
RESOLUTION
To resolve the issue, follow these steps:
- Quit Outlook.
- Click Start, point to Find, and click Files or Folders
- In the Named Box type *.FXO and click OK.
- Click one of the .FXO files in the search results list, and while pressing SHIFT, right-click the selected file.
- Click Open With, and click Quick View.
- Click to select "Always use this program to open this type of file," and click OK.
- Double-click the .FXO file to view it.
