SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to open a menu by clicking the command on the menu bar, it takes a long time before the menu is displayed.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if you are using the Now WYSIWYG extension by Qualcom.

WORKAROUND

Turn off the Now WYSIWYG extension.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

To diagnose extension conflicts with Word, follow these steps:

  1. Hold down the SHIFT key and start or restart your computer.
  2. Start Word
  3. Perform the same steps that resulted in the original problem.

If the problem with Word is resolved, it is probably a problem with a third-party extension.
